About
Designer who codes.
Developer who designs.
I'm Mahtamun Hoque Fahim. I grew up in Bangladesh with an internet connection and an obsession with how things look and work. That combination became a career.
The honest story
I didn't study design in a formal school. I learned by obsessively reverse-engineering things I loved — breaking down why a logo felt trustworthy, why a website felt fast, why some interfaces made you feel calm.
I started building websites because I couldn't communicate what I wanted to developers. I started designing seriously because I couldn't stand ugly interfaces. Both accidents became strengths.
Being from Bangladesh sharpened me. I couldn't rely on proximity to opportunity — I had to be undeniably good. That's still the standard I hold myself to.
I care about work that ships, that works, that people actually use. Beautiful for its own sake doesn't interest me. Beautiful and functional? That's the whole game.
What I believe
Craft over speed
I'd rather take longer and ship something I'm proud of than rush and regret it.
Clarity is kindness
Good design doesn't make people think. It makes them feel at home.
Context is everything
Solutions should fit the problem — not templates, not trends.
Keep learning
The tools change. The principles don't. I stay curious about both.
How I got here
2019
First pixel, first commit
Started designing out of curiosity — posters, logos, random experiments. Discovered that making things look good was only half the equation.
2020
Code enters the picture
Learned HTML, CSS, then JavaScript. Realized I could build what I was designing. That changed everything.
2021
Going full-stack
React, Node.js, databases. The gap between design and development started closing — by choice.
2022
Professional work begins
First real clients. First shipped products. First lessons in what people actually need versus what looks cool.
2023
Design portfolio launches
mahtamundesigns.vercel.app goes live. UI/UX work gets serious. Started building for international clients.
2024+
Right now
Open to meaningful projects. Building tools, designing systems, writing about process. Compounding every day.
